About The Event
VOGO Volleyball has been successfully growing competitive beach volleyball across Saskatchewan since our launch in 2017. The next step? Hosting spectator competitions featuring professional and high level athletes! VOGO's 2021 Men's Professional Beach Volleyball Showcase announces the launch of this initiative and we invite you to join in on the fun.
The Showcase will be held on a feature court alongside VOGO's 5th Annual Adult Co-ed 2v2 Dub Trub tournament at the Regina Rugby Club. Viewing tents will be set up for local athletes, families, and fans to watch beach volleyball at this level. There will be beer gardens all weekend and a patio party on Saturday night!

Adam Thompson
Winnipeg, MB
Adam is a professional beach volleyball player from Manitoba. He is a current Team Canada independent beach athlete and has represented our country in multiple international beach volleyball events. Adam played his university career at the University of Windsor
Aidan Saladana
Moose Jaw, SK
Aidan is a professional indoor volleyball player currently signed to a club in Japan. He represented Team Canada at the u21 world beach volleyball championship and played his university career at the University of Saskatchewan and University of Alberta.
Andrew Nelson
Saskatoon, SK
Andrew is a professional beach volleyball coach in Saskatchewan coaching in Regina, Saskatoon, and Swift Current. Andrew played his university career at the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan, winning Canadian Rookie of the Year and representing Team Canada in 2012.
Colin Fraser
Saskatoon, SK
Colin is a professional indoor volleyball player formerly signed to a team in Switzerland. He won a bronze medal playing beach volleyball at the 2014 Western Canada Games and played his university career at the University of Saskatchewan.
Dylan Mortenson
Swift Current, SK
Dylan is an up-and-comer finishing his varsity playing career at the University of Saskatchewan. He has represented Team Canada on the indoor side and is making moves into the beach side of the sport.
Jonathan Phillips
Regina, SK
Jon is a former university and Team Canada athlete who played for Mount Royal University and Briercrest College. He has recently moved to the beach game and is training and competing locally with the potential of playing professionally!
Matthew Lueck
Prince Albert, SK
Matt is a professional beach volleyball coach in Saskatchewan currently coaching the men's Team Sask Canada Games athletes. He competed at the 2010 Western Canada Games and played his university career at the University of Regina.
Murray Grapentine
Regina, SK
Murray is a former professional indoor athlete and captain for Team Canada. He has competed internationally as a middle blocker and played his university career at the University of Alberta, winning a national championship with the team. Murray is in the Alberta Volleyball Hall of Fame.

The 2021 Showcase is just the start of this professional beach volleyball initiative. VOGO will be piloting video recording capabilities to reach more beach volleyball fans at future events! Beach Volleyball is important to us and we want to bring the best we can to athletes and fans at home.

The Canadian professional beach volleyball scene is almost non-existent, especially in the Prairies. Athletes must pay large sums to travel out of country to support their craft. All athletes in the 2021 Showcase are proudly Prairie-raised and compensated for their play. There is an additional prize pool of $1400 for teams to win.

VOGO's amateur Beach Tour is already thriving, with tournament stops across Saskatchewan and over 400 athletes playing in Summer 2021. Future Showcase events will feature a professional women's and men's division alongside VOGO's amateur beach events to expose our local youth and adult players to the highest levels of beach.

Top teams from across Canada have expressed their interest in attending future Showcases. VOGO has grown an Instagram following of 1500+ beach volleyball athletes, parents, and fans! We want to to feature our best home grown athletes playing against other top Canadian athletes. Let's show the nation that our Prairie athletes have what it takes!
